Departure from Palermo:

First stop after about an hour and fifteen minutes at Bosco della Ficuzza, where stands the Real Casina di Caccia di Ficuzza, a royal palace located in the hamlet of Corleone, within the Bosco della Ficuzza Oriented Nature Reserve. Commissioned by King Ferdinand III of Sicily as a summer hunting estate, the casina is characterized by its rectangular and severe facade.

It continues a short distance to Corleone, an ancient town whose territory has been frequented since prehistoric times. In modern times, Corleone is known for being an important center of Cosa Nostra, hosting some of the most powerful Mafia families in Italy and the world.

In the center of Corleone, it is possible to visit an aristocratic residence from the 1800s, which takes us back in time and allows us to learn about the customs of the people of Corleone. Through the owner’s narration, we discover the daily lives of the peasants, the landed gentry, and the birth of the Mafia and the anti-Mafia.
