First stop in Cefalù, with a travel time of about 50-60 minutes. Cefalù is one of the most picturesque towns in Sicily, located in the Madonie Regional Park. Cefalù Cathedral, included in the UNESCO site “Arab-Norman Palermo,” has been a World Heritage Site since 2015.
Second stage: Castelbuono
Castelbuono, a town of about 8,000 inhabitants, also part of Madonie Park, is surrounded by numerous forests of oak, chestnut, cherry and ash trees. The old town still preserves ancient buildings that rise among the narrow streets of this authentic village. Among the most significant monuments are the Ventimiglia Castle and the Matrice Vecchia, that is, the Church of Santa Maria Assunta.
In addition, a stop at the ancient Fiasconaro pastry shop, recognized worldwide for its excellent sweets, is not to be missed.
Return to Palermo.
